Brake Repair

While each vehicle has a different brake system, the signs of wear and need for maintenance remain the same.

Brake Repair Description

One of the most critical systems of any car is the brake system. This provides the crucial ability to stop the vehicle, ensuring the safety of driver, passengers, and other vehicles on the road. The brake system is comprised of precise parts working in concert with one another to stop the vehicle. When drivers push the brake pedal, a receptacle, known as a mastery cylinder, hydraulic fluid is pressurized through a series of brake lines leading to each wheel. This causes the brake pad to contact the rotor or drum, creating friction which slows the vehicle’s progress until it stops. As one might expect, this repeated friction can cause a great deal of heat which can wear pads, shoes, calipers, rotors, as well as, many other components of the braking system.

Benefits of Brake Repair

As an internal combustion engine operates, the lubricating oil absorbs the contaminants produced when fuel is ignited. If these particles are not removed, they can cause wear and damage to the engine. When oil becomes saturated with the contaminants it loses its ability to properly lubricate the internal parts of the engine. When this happens, the oil breaks down, resulting in limited oil flow. When oil is dirty it also flows slower than clean oil, making the engine work harder which can lead to excessive heat and potential engine failure. When oil is changed and the filter replaced regularly, it keeps the engine running more efficiently and smoother. This leads to a longer engine life. Reach out to us today if you have questions regarding oil changes, lube, or oil filter replacement.

It is important if the brakes no longer ‘feel’ like they are adequately stopping the vehicle that the brake system is inspected by a professional. If your vehicle is exhibiting any of the above symptoms, reach out to us today. Grinding or squeaking sounds when braking are not normal nor are ‘soft’ feeling brakes. We can inspect them and make recommendations for repairs and maintenance. If you have questions or concerns about the braking system of your vehicle, reach out to us today.
